Zur Person

Simon Baumgartinger-Seiringer ist Postdoktorand (Wirtschaftsgeographie) am Institut für Geographie und Regionalforschung (IfGR) an der Universität Wien. Er hat einen Magisterabschluss in Geographie & Wirtschaftskunde und Geschichte (Lehramt), sowie ein Doktorat in Wirtschaftsgeographie. Im Rahmen seiner Forschung beschäftigt er sich mit dem innovationsbasierten Strukturwandel von Regionen. Insbesondere interessiert er sich für systemische und integrative Perspektiven auf die industrielle Pfadentwicklung und die Dynamik regionaler Innovationssysteme. Derzeit arbeitet er im Horizon Europe Projekt "RIS4Danu", im Rahmen dessen er Entwicklungsstrategien für nachhaltige und integrative regionale Wandlungsprozesse an verschiedenen Standorten innerhalb der Donau-Makro-Region (vom Schwarzwald bis zum Schwarzen Meer) untersucht.
