Senior Scientists

Marion Borderon and Harald Sterly started to work as senior scientists in the Population, Environment, and Development working group

  • Marion Borderon is working with Patrick Sakdapolrak and Harald Sterly on the environment-migration nexus. She is also engaged in the four-year Project HABITABLE: Linking Climate Change, Habitability and Social Tipping Points: Scenarios for Climate Migration funded by the EC. She has been working at the University of Vienna on the nexus between migration and environmental change since September 2016. She hold a PhD from Aix Marseille University.
  • Harald Sterly is working with Patrick Sakdapolrak and Marion Borderon on topics of human-environment relations and climate migration. In addition, he will be conducting data analyses and field research for the EC-funded project HABITABLE: Linking Climate Change, Habitability and Social Tipping Points: Scenarios for Climate Migration. Harald is working at the University of Vienna since 2019, and holds a PhD from Cologne University.
