Somayeh Alikhani on research visit at Geoecology, welcome!

She is a Ph.D. student from University of Helsinki (Finland) conducting research on the importance of policymakers and management for the protection of urban wetlands.

Biography

Somayeh Alikhani is a Ph.D. student at Wetland Ecology Group, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Helsinki, Finland. She holds two master’s degrees in Environmental Sciences. She received a M. Eng. degree in Urban Sustainability from the Lahti University of Applied Sciences (LAB), Finland in 2018. She received her another M.Sc. degree in Environmental Design Engineering and a B.Sc. degree in Agricultural Engineering, both from the University of Tehran, Iran.  Her research is centered on urban waterbodies (especially urban wetlands), the role of urban wetlands in urban sustainability and reducing the effects of climate change, and wetlands environmental history analysis. She is currently on a research visit at the University of Vienna, where she is conducting research on the importance of policymakers and management for the protection of urban wetlands.
