Welcome Apoline Zahorka!

I am student at the Ecole Normale Supérieure - PSL in Paris. There, I am doing a master in Geosciences, and I was also studying chemistry and ecology in the previous years and as additional courses. My main research interest focuses on how living beings interact with their environment and how carbon and water cyles interact with each other, in continental ecosystems. I am also very interested in the social and political sciences implications of this.

Until the end of July I will be working here on how different litter mixtures are decomposed by microorganisms in peatland ecosystems, depending on the plant species and how they mix together. This could help us understand the effects of climate or vegetation change on carbon cycling in peatlands and what are the mechanisms behind it.
