Since July 2025, Prof. Ugur Öztürk's newly founded Geohazards Working Group has been researching the complex nature of landslide risk as part of an ERC project. The focus is on the interplay between social, ecological, and urbanization-related factors. The aim of the project is to better quantify landslide risks in order to create a knowledge base for relevant decisions – especially in tropical metropolises.
