Biography

I studied Cartography in Wuhan University where I got my BSc degree and for my thesis I focused on human mobility & pandemic. Then I joined University of Zurich in 2021 as a master’s student in GIS, with a minor in Data Science. My skills in Spatial Data Science, Machine Learning, Network Science etc. got trained in my studies there, including a project about map generalization under the instruction of Prof. Dr. Robert Weibel as well as my manuscript about toponyms & landscape under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ross Purves.

From Sep. 2024, I started working as a pre-doctoral researcher here in University of Vienna, focusing on climate change and migration, but mostly play with data rather than conducting field trips and doing interviews. In the interdisciplinary work in the following years, I would manage to introduce GeoAI methods into the context of climate migration, to provide a combination of global and local view of climate migration.
