Biography

I am a qualified planner with a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a PhD in Social Sciences (Urban Design). Throughout my academic career since 2006, I have been dedicated to researching the relationship between urban planning and environmental sustainability, with a particular focus on the empowerment of marginalized communities in urban settings. My current research focuses on “Women-driven community development: promoting community inclusion and resilience in Vienna’s multicultural dynamic environment” and another research project entitled “Cultural heritage revival for supporting green community initiatives: a case study of Hawraman in Iraqi Kurdistan”.

Research Interests

Public spaces, sustainable urban development, urban form, women's public space, behavior and space, Kurdish/Iranian cities
